LCD VS AMOLED DISPLAY DIFFERENCE

Liquid-crystal display

LCD stands for Liquid crystal display that use the light modulating properties of liquid crystals. Liquid crystals do not emit lightdirectly, instead using a back light or reflectorto produce images in color or monochrome.Since LCD screens do not use phosphors, they do not suffer image burn in when a static image is displayed on a screen for a long time. But as compared to amoled it uses more battery when the screen is continously on even though you use dark coloured wallpapers, but colors are not over saturated .

AMOLED

AMOLED stands for (active-matrix organic light-emitting diode). An AMOLED display consists of an active matrix of OLED pixels. AMOLED displays are prone to screen burn in  which leaves a permanent imprint of overused colours represented by overused images.Red and green OLED films have longer lifespans compared to blue OLED films. This variation results in colour shifts as a particular pixel fades faster than the other pixels.AMOLED screens also tend to have great contrast, as the light on the screen comes from each individual pixel rather than a backlight; when it needs to create a black colour it simply dims or turns off the relevant pixels, for a true, deep black.but as compare to LCD screen it uses less battery if we use a dark colour wallpapers light emmiting diodes are not active in that  dark part . As compare to lcd colours are little over saturated .
